Bad French. Ennui = boredom, annoy, dissatisfaction. Nouvelle = new, the nouvelle vague cinema of 60s France. Intended translation = "the boring new cinema". Actual translation = "the troubled news cinema". We accept either.
				The Ennui Nouvelle Cinema began in January 2004 as a banner for Independent filmmaker Richard Eames to release his own warped genre of cinema. For three years TENC continued to release new work sporadically every 6-12 months until 2006 when core members relocated to South-East Asia to pursue other ventures. After a lengthy 2 year hiatus, TENC was resurrected in late 2008 with a renewed energy and enthusiasm for the over-the-edge mind-fucking cinema we enjoy making so much!
				To make innovative contemporary work for our time and against the apathy of our generation. We aim to subvert technology and style in the great power struggle against advertising, corporate cinema and the mass hallucination of nations. We hope to exist as independently and as free from compromise as possible, while collaborating with other like-minded and not so like-minded artists, activists, and lunatics that we respect. ...and we're always bored with the new!
